Van driver crashes into pub

It isn’t the first time a ve­hi­cle has made con­tact with the pub’s roof - the roof was chipped only 18 months ago ac­cord­ing to a mem­ber of staff at the pub.

Neigh­bour Va­le­rio Gen­tile, who lives in Sy­den­ham road, dis­cov­ered the crash when he re­turned from the shops. “I was com­ing back home and I saw the van crash­ing on the path,” he said. “It was pretty weird, it’s not some­thing that you see ev­ery day.”

A spokesman for Sur­rey Po­lice said: “Sur­rey Po­lice were called to Sy­den­ham road in Guild­ford at 10.30am fol­low­ing re­ports of a ve­hi­cle col­lid­ing into a pub. The fire ser­vice are also in at­ten­dance. No one is be­lieved to have suf­fered any in­juries.”
