Ten objects to sum up town’s history
THE Lightbox museum in Woking is 10 years old on Thursday.
As part of its exciting celebrations the museum team has dug through its heritage collection to find 10 items that capture the town’s history.
The list forms a small part of the museum’s 10th anniversary celebrations, which include a photographic exhibition, a display marking 70 years of Kenwood kitchen appliances, an anniversary lecture and, on Saturday September 16, a family friendly birthday party.
Humans have lived in Woking for around 5,000 years, and The Lightbox has thousands of objects in its collection, so narrowing them down to just 10 was no easy task.
