Pair heading to Mexico in tilt for amateur glory
WEYBRIDGE golfer James Dedman has earned a place in the world’s largest amateur golf tournament – the Audi Quattro Cup.
Along with his playing partner Martin Williams from Shepperton, Dedman completed the course at the Bowood Hotel & Golf Resort in Calne, Wiltshire, to qualify for the tournament.
Coming through a nationwide field of more than 2,000 golfers, the pair triumphed with a score of 37 in the greensomes stableford format – just one point behind winners Jon Ball and Melissa McMahon.
The duo will next travel to Mexico in December to play in the global final at the Quivira Golf Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus, and take on competitors from 46 other countries in their quest for the title.
