Timber Hill open day to sup­port Age UK

THERE is an Open Gar­den event in the glo­ri­ous set­ting of Timber Hill in Chob­ham on Sun­day Oc­to­ber 15, to raise money for Age UK Sur­rey and the Na­tional Gar­den Scheme.

It is an op­por­tu­nity to en­joy the au­tumn colours in the beau­ti­fully-kept, 15-acre gar­dens and woodland in Chert­sey Road, with stun­ning views to the North Downs.

There will be a mini mar­ket place for vis­i­tors to dis­cover what sup­port, ad­vice and in­for­ma­tion is avail­able for older peo­ple and to meet the Men in Sheds.

Light lunches (pre-book­able) and re­fresh­ments will be served.

The event is open to ev­ery­one and there will be na­ture and wildlife chil­dren.

It is open from 11am-4pm, with home­made cakes, tea and cof­fee.

Age UK Sur­rey is an in­de­pen­dent lo­cal char­ity, work­ing to im­prove the lives of older peo­ple.

Ser­vices are de­signed to en­able peo­ple to re­main in­de­pen­dent and in­formed, healthy and ac­tive and con­nected to their com­mu­ni­ties, al­le­vi­at­ing lone­li­ness and so­cial iso­la­tion.

The char­ity re­lies on the sup­port of vol­un­teers to de­liver its serv­cies.

Those ser­vices in­clude in­for­ma­tion and ad­vice, coun­selling, help at home, com­puter skills, tea and chat, foot care clin­ics, Shop­mo­bil­ity in Guild­ford and Men in Sheds in Ash.
