A COFFEE morning marked the opening of a new nursery in Whiteley Village. More than 50 people attended the event, which marked The Village Nursery’s move from the cricket club to The Sanctuary, an under-used church within the village. The nursery staff provided a large spread of cakes and coffee for resi- dents, while visitors toured the building, which has had new miniature toilets and sinks installed so the building is suitable for young children. The nursery, for children aged two to four years, officially opened earlier this month and has around 40 children. Dianne Ingham, who runs the nursery, said: “I am extremely grateful that so many people came down to visit us at the coffee morning today. “It was fantastic to show everyone the work we do here in the nursery and to meet lots of new faces. “Everyone has been extremely welcoming and I am looking forward to spending time in our new home at Whiteley.”
