IB suc­cess for TA­SIS

A THORPE school has been judged among the top 25 in­de­pen­dent schools of­fer­ing the In­ter­na­tional Bac­calau­re­ate (IB) pro­gramme in the UK. TA­SIS The Amer­i­can School in Eng­land, earned the ac­co­lade from Ed­u­ca­tion Ad­vis­ers Ltd, based on its league ta­ble com­piled us­ing the av­er­age score achieved in the 2014 IB exams. TA­SIS pupils achieved an av­er­age of 34 points, the fourth high­est score among the Sur­rey schools rep­re­sented. The school also cel­e­brated a 100% pass rate for the fourth year run­ning. Among the 50 TA­SIS stu­dents who were awarded the IB Diploma in 2014, one earned the max­i­mum 45 points – a score achieved by fewer than 1% of the stu­dents tak­ing the exams through­out the world. A to­tal of 28 pupils were awarded bilin­gual diplo­mas, re­flect­ing the in­ter­na­tional among stu­dents school. IB co-or­di­na­tor Dr An­droulaki-Wood­cock said: “I am very proud of our May 2014 can­di­dates and their ac­com­plish­ments. “They took risks, showed tenac­ity of pur­suit, and cel­e­brated the di­ver­sity of the group in the class­room and beyond. “We have learned from them.
