Head to the garden for season of art
GUEST artists Sarah Povey and John Mitchell will be performing alongside the Bourne Concert Band this weekend. Musical director for the concert at Addlestone Community Centre in Garfield Road in Addlestone will be Jonathon Spencer. Sarah Povey, raised in Chertsey and Addlestone, gained a music degree at Roehampton Institute of Higher Education and received classical voice training. She discovered voice movement therapy and qualified as a professional practitioner in 1999. Raised in Addlestone, John Mitchell studied guitar, piano and voice at the Royal College of Music, graduating with both teaching and performing diplomas. Tickets are available from Christie’s and Mike’s Aladdins Cave in Station Road, or the community centre. Exhibitions forming the Season of Art include: Chrysanthemums Botanical Art in the Lindley Library, October 4 to 31; International Garden Photographer of the Year display, October 4 to January 4; Art of Nature exhibition, October 7-10; Anna Mason Painting exhibition, October 14 to November 2; Royal Watercolour Society display, November 19 to 30. Henry Moore’s King and Queen will remain this winter in the gardens overlooking the canal.
