Head to the gar­den for sea­son of art

GUEST artists Sarah Povey and John Mitchell will be per­form­ing along­side the Bourne Con­cert Band this week­end. Mu­si­cal di­rec­tor for the con­cert at Ad­dle­stone Com­mu­nity Cen­tre in Garfield Road in Ad­dle­stone will be Jonathon Spencer. Sarah Povey, raised in Chert­sey and Ad­dle­stone, gained a mu­sic de­gree at Roe­hamp­ton In­sti­tute of Higher Ed­u­ca­tion and re­ceived clas­si­cal voice train­ing. She dis­cov­ered voice move­ment ther­apy and qual­i­fied as a pro­fes­sional prac­ti­tioner in 1999. Raised in Ad­dle­stone, John Mitchell stud­ied gui­tar, pi­ano and voice at the Royal Col­lege of Mu­sic, grad­u­at­ing with both teach­ing and per­form­ing diplo­mas. Exhibitions form­ing the Sea­son of Art in­clude: Chrysan­the­mums Botan­i­cal Art in the Lind­ley Li­brary, Oc­to­ber 4 to 31; In­ter­na­tional Gar­den Pho­tog­ra­pher of the Year dis­play, Oc­to­ber 4 to Jan­uary 4; Art of Na­ture ex­hi­bi­tion, Oc­to­ber 7-10; Anna Ma­son Paint­ing ex­hi­bi­tion, Oc­to­ber 14 to Novem­ber 2; Royal Wa­ter­colour So­ci­ety dis­play, Novem­ber 19 to 30. Henry Moore’s King and Queen will re­main this win­ter in the gar­dens over­look­ing the canal.
