Devon relish as Panthers shine

Surrey Herald/News - - SPORT -

PANTHERS were a joy to watch as they gave South Park the runaround – Devon Wasko scoring twice.

Slick passing, strong defence, intelligent switching and pacey breaks saw them win at a canter. They hit the woodwork on occasions too while penalty appeals in each half were turned down. Ryan Binnie rolled in the first after 11 minutes, while Wasko added his couple in a five-minute spell just after the half-hour mark to seal it for rampant Casuals.

U13 Staines Lammas 5 Kingswood Falcons 1

STAINES got their season off to a flyer with a thumping win – Zayaan Sadiq the main destroyer with a hattrick. Sadiq was joined on the scoresheet by Ryan Porter and Thomas Moorehead.

Staines Town 4 Ascot 1

ASCOT were never at the races against Swans in the Surrey Youth Premier Elite. Two goals each from Tom Cursons and Charlie Jaggers won the day while there was some excellent goalkeeping from Paddy Saphir who has just returned from a broken ankle.

U16 Staines Lammas 1 Guildford City Tigers 5

LAMMAS were beaten heavily in their first game as Tigers mauled them.

It was a close first half with only one goal separating the teams. Calum Beauchamp was on target for Lammas while their best player on the day was Kevin Ribeiro.

Happy chappies: Staines Town enjoyed an excellent

win in their first game of the season.
