A MUCH-LOVED greatgrandmother who has lived through two world wars, the fall of the Berlin wall and the assassination of John F Kennedy has celebrated her 101st birthday. Eva Miller was surrounded by friends and family, including her greatgranddaughter, who flew over from Norway especially, for her party at Whitegates Care Centre in Laleham last Wednesday. The former nurse, who was born on December 3 1913 in Leiston, Suffolk, enjoyed some nostalgic reminiscing with music from the last 100 years performed by the members of entertainment company Champagne Enterprise Ltd. Jackie Penfold, events organiser at Whitegates Care Centre, said: “She’s a pleasure to have in the home and just a lovely lady. “It was a lovely afternoon with lots of presents and flowers and she had a big party and chocolate cake, which is her favourite. “She’s very good for her age and still likes to keep independent as much as she can and join in with the activities. “She gets on with everybody and is well liked.”
