HE poor form of Altrincham continued this weekend against AFC Telford as the Robins lost 2-1.
Goals from Adam Farrell and Tony Gray in the 39th and 53rd minute were enough to see off Altrincham despite a late consolation goal from Nicky Clee.
The first goal came when a mix-up between Altrincham players, Williams and Sinnott, allowed Gray to pick up the ball, play a one two, and slot home comfortably past Dave Parton from around 12 yards. The home side doubled their lead just after the interval when a wayward Sam Smith shot found its way to the feet of Adam Farrell who had all the time in the world to steady himself and put the ball in the back of the net.
Altrincham threatened a late comeback, despite creating very little all game, when Nicky Clee volleyed home from around 15 yards out after a knock down from substitute Kyle Perry at the back post.
After the game Robins boss, Lee Sinnott, said: “We were a bit flat today and I’m disappointed in the result, as well as the past two games against Torquay and Gateshead. But, in truth, if you’d have told me we’d be safe with four games of the season left then we’d have snatched your hand off.”
