Reeds Rains Ashton: Remaining realistic in a challenging market
WHILST the housing market is certainly healthier than in recent years, Andrew Cronshaw, director of Reeds Rains Ashton warns homeowners of the dangers of being lulled into a false sense of security, especially at a politically turbulent time as the general election looms...
“Recent reports in the media suggest as much as a 10 per cent rise in property prices during the past 12 months.
“Whilst there has been a marked increase in confidence in the market, homeowners need to appreciate that these increases are regional, with the most change being seen in the south of the country. Finance is still difficult to obtain and buyers remain cautious.
“However, with this renewed confidence homeowners can misinterpret these changes and conclude that their properties have grown in value much more than is the reality.
“At Reeds Rains we remain realistic about property values in Tameside. We can make sure that our clients do not fall into the trap of marketing their properties at too high a price only to be disappointed and disillusioned as their expectations have to subsequently be lowered again and again.
“By giving our clients a true picture of market values we are able to achieve results for them much quicker than our competitors. This has resulted in us consistently being the market leaders with our properties spending the shortest average time on the market .
