Care home trying to fill six vacancies
Montrose House, which has been forced to suspend respite care, has six outstanding vacancies, it emerged this week.
As previously reported by the Banner, the Brodick care home has a staff crisis with an increasing number coming from the mainland and having to be put up in rooms at the home.
A spokesperson for North Ayrshire health and social care partnership said: ‘Recruitment on Arran, not just in Montrose House, can be challenging at times and there is continuous work ongoing to address the situation.
‘Montrose House currently has six social care worker vacancies and they are a mixture of full-time and part-time posts. Two of the vacancies are due to staff within Montrose House being promoted to more senior positions, and sadly one of the other vacancies is a result of a staff member passing away earlier this year.’
The other three vacancies are the result of staff turnover. Interviews will be held within the next couple of weeks.
