Television viewers may have recognised a familiar face when watching the new six-part drama series

The Last Post on Sunday. Paul Tinto, who is cast as corporal Chris Dimarco, features in the drama as one of the military police officers in the show which is set in the 1960s during the Aden Emergency.

Paul spent much of his formative years on the island as he is the son of former Arran GPs Graham and Barbara Tinto who now live in Dunkeld, Perthshire. No stranger to the big and small screen as Paul has also featured in Tommy’s Honour and

New Gods, both released in 2016 along with First

Light which was released in 2010. Set in the Yemen in 1965,

The Last Post is the story of a British army unit fighting a Yemeni insurgency in the Middle East and the women and children who were there with them.

Among the stars is Jessica Raine, in a very different role from the goodie-twoshoes character she played in Call the Midwife. The Last Post is screened on BBC 1 Scotland on Sundays at 9pm. The first episode is available on the BBC iplayer.
