Cross-coun­try suc­cess for Ar­ran

Ar­ran has achieved a good deal of suc­cess in the North Ayr­shire Schools cross coun­try league they have been tak­ing part in over the past four months.

Or­gan­is­ers from the schools, led by Ar­ran High head teacher Barry Smith, have con­sis­tently taken a team of 22 young peo­ple from the is­land to the se­ries of four races on the main­land.

Ar­ran had two out­right win­ners - James McCarthy in the S2 boys and Rhea Webster of Shisk­ine Pri­mary in the P5 girls. The other places were: S3 boys, Char­lie Bon­ner, sec­ond; S3 girls, Ciara Wood, sec­ond; S2 boys Milo God­win, sec­ond; S1 boys, Con­nah Wright, sec­ond; S1 girls, Daisy McNa­mara, sec­ond; S1 girls, Julie Hamill, third; P7 boys, Ruar­idh Lind­say-Smith, Lamlash Pri­mary, sec­ond; P7 boys Archie Gun­yadi, Shisk­ine Pri­mary, third.
