HI, Sunshine News readers.

We hope all is well with you and your loved ones. The team here at The Chronicle Sunshine Fund would like to say a special thank you to Santa for writing last week's column and giving us a much-earned rest.

Since The Big Man told you all about our Letters From Santa initiative, we have been inundated with requests for Santa to write to your little (And not so little!) ones. Just to remind you all, our cut-off for Letters from Santa will be December 14 (because even St Nick has to abide by Royal Mail's Christmas postage timetable) so please don't delay, head over to our website for full details.

This week we have been working with our good friends at Barclays on something really special.

The Barclays Business North East and Cumbria team are swapping their suits for snow boots (kind of) and trekking the equivalent from their Newcastle Quayside office to Lapland, which is approximately 2,410 miles, to raise funds for us.

They will set off on November 28 and each member of the team will share six million steps walking locally both in and outdoors to collectively complete this mammoth journey. They will take photos as they go to share with us, so please keep your eye on our social media channels so you can check in on them.

Rachel Bell, area business manager Newcastle, Northumberland and Teeside at Barclays and our very own The Chronicle Sunshine Fund Trustee, said: “As trustee of The Chronicle Sunshine Fund and a member of Barclays staff it is great that we can raise muchneeded funds for the charity and support Barclays colleagues wellbeing at the same time by getting out and walking individually to achieve our goal.

“I am extremely passionate about the charity and the amazing work the team do to help families in our region and would like to thank everyone in advance of their donations.”

You can support Team Barclays and help us make a difference to local lives this festive season by sponsoring them on the following link – tinyurl.com/ y5mt9kdm

We would also like to say a huge thank you to our friends at Costain for their donation of a brand new printer and iPhone.

As you know we are currently working remotely so these items will enable us to keep in touch with families and process application paperwork in our kitchens.

Have you got your Christmas knits handy?

Barclays will also be joining corporate teams, community groups, schools and individuals from all over the North East in this years Christmas Jumper day on Friday, December 11.

Don't forget to share your photos with us by tagging us on social media.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
