Open day to take place at de­men­tia unit

A LUX­URY care home is open­ing a new spe­cial­ist de­men­tia unit called Seren­ity to sup­port res­i­dents with the most com­plex needs.

The Royal Hamp­ton in Pon­te­land is show­cas­ing the new 27-bed fa­cil­ity at an open day to­mor­row where health­care pro­fes­sion­als and mem­bers of the public will get a chance to tour the unit and spe­cial­ist staff will be on hand to pro­vide ad­vice and an­swer ques­tions.

Op­er­ated by Crown Care, Seren­ity will take its first res­i­dents later in Septem­ber.

Royal Hamp­ton manager Lara Ma­succi said: “Seren­ity is a tran­quil en­vi­ron­ment pro­vid­ing high-qual­ity care in a lux­ury set­ting. We are very proud of this ad­di­tion to our beau­ti­ful Royal Hamp­ton home.”

The new Seren­ity suites of­fer ele­gant sur­round­ings and spa­cious bed­rooms de­signed with colours aimed at pro­mot­ing seren­ity and calm. A busy pro­gramme of stim­u­lat­ing ac­tiv­i­ties in­cludes pet ther­apy, gar­den­ing and knit­ting.

The open day runs to­mor­row from 11am.
