Open day to take place at dementia unit
A LUXURY care home is opening a new specialist dementia unit called Serenity to support residents with the most complex needs.
The Royal Hampton in Ponteland is showcasing the new 27-bed facility at an open day tomorrow where healthcare professionals and members of the public will get a chance to tour the unit and specialist staff will be on hand to provide advice and answer questions.
Operated by Crown Care, Serenity will take its first residents later in September.
Royal Hampton manager Lara Masucci said: “Serenity is a tranquil environment providing high-quality care in a luxury setting. We are very proud of this addition to our beautiful Royal Hampton home.”
The new Serenity suites offer elegant surroundings and spacious bedrooms designed with colours aimed at promoting serenity and calm. A busy programme of stimulating activities includes pet therapy, gardening and knitting.
The open day runs tomorrow from 11am.
