Shake­speare lit­er­ally too good for Sport­ing

GUIDEPOST Shake­speare Tav­ern de­feated Ash­ing­ton Sport­ing Club 6-3.

The Shake­speare went into a 2-0 lead af­ter just two min­utes and then scored two more to go 4-0 up.

At this point, the Sport­ing Club woke up and pulled two goals back through Jamie Graham.

The vis­i­tors then went 6-2 ahead be­fore Graham com­pleted his hat­trick.

Jamie Irv­ing notched a tre­ble for the Shake­speare, Jack An­der­son (2) and John Spay wth the other goals.

Beb­side Inn went down 2-0 at home against Ash­ing­ton Sta­tion Lounge.

Damien Steven claimed both coun­ters for the Lounge.

Elling­ton Plough also lost at home, this time 5-3 against the Block and Tackle.

Mathew Turner bagged a brace, Jor­dan Dodds with the other strikes for the Plough.

Bradley Hig­gins (4) and Kieran Park were on tar­get for Block and Tackle.

High Street were beaten 2-0 by vis­i­tors New­big­gin New Ship, Ma­son Armstrong and Ma­cAuley Burt net­ting.

Bedling­ton So­cial Club United tri­umphed against Ash­ing­ton Town Cen­tral.

Ef­forts for the So­cial Club came from Joe Mo­scrop (2), Craig Webb, Ben Se­nior and An­drew Welsh.

Ash­ing­ton RAOB pre­vailed 2-1 against their hosts Ears­don Red Lion.
