Food for thought after hospital stay

- GEORGE LAWSON

I SPENT seven days in the hospital at Cramlington in July 2017 having had a serious operation on my femur.

It required two metal pins, one the length of the femur.

During my stay I found the food very good and varied. Each day I was presented with a wide menu to select my meals for the next day.

If anyone goes to this hospital and cannot find a suitable choice I wonder what sort of meals they have at home.

It must also be remembered that some patients have their meals chosen by nutritionists to suit their particular condition.

After being transferred to another hospital, the Borders General at Melrose, for further treatment, I found that the food there was equally good.

I agree that any food taken in

should be checked by the nursing staff.
