Vue take their tre­ble chance

BELLE Vue se­cured a tro­phy tre­ble by claim­ing the Bob Curry Cup – beat­ing Di­vi­sion One side Pelaw Grange Dogs 4-1 in the fi­nal.

Dy­lan Howourth gave Vue a slen­der one-goal ad­van­tage be­fore John De­whurst dou­bled the lead.

An own goal gave Vue a third be­fore James Bow­man made it four with a header.

Pelaw Grange never gave up and a last-minute David Hawkins strike was their con­so­la­tion.

There was, how­ever, con­so­la­tion for the Dogs as they clinched pro­mo­tion to the Premier Di­vi­sion – fin­ish­ing run­ners-up in Di­vi­sion One fol­low­ing a 3-2 suc­cess at Teams Club.

Mark Curry, Jor­dan Stevens and Bri Allen were on tar­get for The Dogs, Josh Archibald and Paul Garth­waite re­ply­ing for Teams.

Aller­dene were 8-3 win­ners at The Ea­gle.

Martin Sum­m­er­satt hit a hat­trick, Kieran McPher­son a brace with Danny Avilez, Lewis Munro and Joe Turn­bull also net­ting.

David Kennedy, Kevin Pop­ple­ton and Dean Wright all reg­is­tered for The Ea­gle.

CON­SETT Scotch Arms clinched their first Con­sett Sun­day League Di­vi­sion One ti­tle.

Coun­ters from Adam Knowles, An­drew Whit­field, Dan Walker, David Parker and Joe Craig se­cured a 5-1 vic­tory over Con­sett Demi to wrap up the league with one game to go.

An­n­field Plain Demi need a re­peat win over Con­sett Supa Snooker to­mor­row evening to lift the Di­vi­sion Three ti­tle.

A hat-trick from Jon­nie He­wit­son, dou­bles from Kai He­wit­son and Jake Hall and sin­gles from Dan Pun­ton and Colin Snail­ham earned them a 9-1 suc­cess against Supa Snooker, who had An­drew Wright­son on tar­get.

Lanch­ester Cricket Club se­cured third place in Di­vi­sion Two thanks to a 4-2 re­sult against fourth­placed Win­la­ton Crown and Can­non.

John Law­son, Steven Smith­son, Jack New­ton and Marc Clews grabbed their goals.
