What is a woman?

The Chronicle - - Feedback -

WHAT is a woman but a joy A beautiful human being not a toy In her heart is love and affection She embraces the family without exception In times gone by she would be happy being a housewife Now she craves a different way of life But the love she gives to those she most cares about is not lost when she goes out For her duties are manyfold but she carries with her a heart of gold What is needed - her children just have to ask For a woman can multi-task For she is a mother, a nurse, a lover and a friend In her the family can depend Those little cuts and bruises she kisses them better, it seems to do the trick She nurses them back to health when they are sick She must not forget her husband’s needs for she is a wife But she also leads an independent life For she has a will of her own Not confined to the family home It was in the kitchen she once did slave Yelling to the kids “will you behave” Now she can be a businesswoman, a politician, a pillar of the community She is equal to men in today’s society ALAN WATERHOUSE, Seaton Delaval
