Colliers’ defeat a great Storey!

ASHINGTON lost their unbeaten record, going down at home by 88 runs to Lanchester.
The visitors were put into bat and did well to boost their total to 200-8.
Middle-order batsman Daniel Storey top-scored with 46, Sam Crooks chipping in with 35.
Callum Barnes hit three fours and a six at the end to end up unbeaten on 24.
Stephen Boyd was the pick of the Ashington bowlers with 3-29.
In reply, the hosts’ run chase never got going, quickly slumping to 59-6 – ex-Durham man Ben Harmison lasting only three balls.
Ashington managed to reach 112 before being bowled out, leaving Barnes with figures of 3-12 and Kieron Taylor with 3-17.
Leaders Shotley Bridge stayed unbeaten after they won at Percy Main by three wickets.
The hosts elected to bat first and posted 173-9, thanks to Fraser Oates who made 86 from 151 balls – including nine boundaries. Mick Allen took 3-46.
Shotley openers Greg Patterson (30) and Kieran (36) then steered them to 114-2.
Main fought back, removing the middle order, but Paul Greenwell remained 50 not out as the leaders reached 176-7.
Swalwell secured a nervy 27-run victory at bottom side Stocksfield to move into second.
The Gateshead outfit decided to bat first and were struggling on 60-5 before Stephen Smith hit 44 as they posted 174-8. Steven Henderson took 4-29.
Stocksfield reached 140-6 but Nick Phillips and John Meadows both took two quick wickets apiece as the hosts fell to 147. Guy Saxton earlier finished with 4-34.
Tynedale jumped up to fourth after they trimphed at Consett by 81 runs.
Callan McCabe hit 70 and James Rainford 65 as Tynedale’s innings ended on 228-7.
Kamran Mansoor hit 60 but Consett managed only 147 in reply, McCabe ending up with 3-47.
Newcastle City prevailed by 90 runs at second-bottom side Alnmouth and Lesbury.
