Clas­sics from the past roar to the coast

GLEAM­ING bon­nets and daz­zling sil­ver bumpers, sharp wings and soft curves will line up at Whit­ley Bay for the town’s fifth clas­sic car show this week­end.

Buses, scoot­ers and the odd mo­tor­bike will also feature among the 650 ve­hi­cles reg­is­tered to park up on The Links to­mor­row morn­ing, ready to wel­come thou­sands of vis­i­tors.

They will be en­cour­aged to find out about the cars from en­thu­si­as­tic own­ers and may even get to sit be­hind the wheel.

Or­gan­ised by North Ty­ne­side Coun­cil, and sup­ported by East­coast Taxis and Whit­ley Bay Cham­ber of Trade, the event will feature cars from around the world, from mid-1930s clas­sics to more re­cent mod­els, and many local clas­sic car clubs will be there.
