Young people from across Lancashire flocked to Blackburn Cathedral this past weekend for the largest youth event ever held by the Church in this region; the ‘Sanctuary: Love Never Ends’ was an all-night lock-in from 7.30pm to 7am. More than 100 young people and around 40 youth leaders took part in the event organized by the Diocesan Board of Education, which included worship, socialization, cage-football, a bouncy castle, film-making, other activities, and an abundance of food. The Bishop, the Rt Rev Julian Henderson, led the initial collective worship at the start of the evening. Furthermore, all of the young people in attendance were challenged to plan a way to express God’s love in their own community in the coming year as a part of the religious portion of the evening. Groups that took part in the event were from Skerton, Appley Bridge, Chorley, Thornton, Freckleton, Shevington, Poulton, Lytham, Baxenden, Burscough, Accrington, Laneside, as well as Lancaster.
