Charis­matic leader dies

ONE OF THE founders of the Charis­matic Re­newal Move­ment in the United States, the Rev Everett “Terry” Ful­lam, has died at the age of 83, re­ports the Bishop of Cen­tral Florida.

In a 15 March 2014 Tweet to his dio­cese, the Rt Rev Gre­gory O Brewer wrote: “Just heard that Terry Ful­lam passed away. A gen­er­a­tion ago he was a hero.”

Trained as a mu­si­cian, Terry Ful­lam was ed­u­cated at Gor­don Col­lege and Har­vard Univer­sity and was or­dained in 1967 by the Bishop of Rhode Is­land af­ter study­ing pri­vately for holy or­ders. In 1972 he was ap­pointed Rec­tor of St Paul’s in Darien, Con­necti­cut.

Dur­ing his ten­ure at St Paul’s, (1972-1989) the par­ish saw sig­nif­i­cant re­vival.
