Diocese of Southwell & Nottingham
The Bishop of Sherwood, the Rt Rev Tony Porter, is pictured with the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, during a retreat in Lindisfarne. They had gathered on the island with other Bishops to pray and plan for the “re-evangelisation of the North” and Bishop Tony described his stay as “one of the best 48 hours in my life as a Bishop”. He had taken his latest book, Seed Scattering, which explores ways of sharing the Christian Gospel. Bishop Tony has spoken to newly consecrated bishops about Seed Scattering in their own dioceses and, along with Lucille, his wife, has visited 20 parishes in the diocese to talk about evangelism.
