Three high-performance cars worth a six-figure sum have been stolen from a private garage in an overnight raid in Aberdeenshire.

The Sierra RS Cosworth vehicles were taken from a garage in the Main Street area of Longside, near Peterhead, overnight on Friday.

Police said they would probably have been towed away or put on the back of a lorry.

An extensively modified moonstone blue Ford Sierra RS Cosworth (registration number D341 JHW) with gold alloys and an original black model with no modifications (E203 APU) were stolen.

An extensivelymodified white version of the vehicle was also taken but has since been recovered.

Detective Constable Richard Cooper said: “I would urge anyone who saw anything unusual on the surrounding roads during the night in question to get in touch.”
