Henrik Stenson tore the record book to shreds with probably the finest single performance in Open Championship history to win the Claret Jug at Royal Troon. Stenson shot only the second 63 to win a major to edge Phil Mickelson’s 65 and claim the title by three strokes in an epic battle between the duo that left the rest of the field 14 strokes behind. The Swede finally broke his country’s duck in men’s major championships with a 20-under aggregate of 264 – both major records.
