Coach Pacha has confidence in Holland

Craig Holland has iced in only 16 games in his three-year Dundee Stars career.

Tonight the Fife-born, ex-edinburgh Capitals netminder faces possibly the biggest test of his profession­al career.

Holland will play from the start in one of the biggest arenas in the Elite League.

The 8,000-capacity Odyssey in Belfast is a cauldron and the 24-year-old will have to be remain ice cool for the entire Challenge Cup, Group B, clash.

Giants carry major firepower and the 6ft 2in stopper knows he is in for a busy 60 minutes.

Holland deputises for bed-ridden No 1 Travis Fullerton who has been hit by a flu bug.

The virus has infected several of Stars players so far this week and coach Omar Pacha has ordered squad members to stay at home if they feel ill.

Pacha said: “Craig has enjoyed a good pre-season and I’m looking forward to seeing him in the line-up.

“He is a popular guy in the dressingro­om and the guys will work hard to be strong in front of him.

“Sometimes when a backup comes in the guys all rally round to help him out.

“This is a great opportunit­y for Craig to show what he can do in a big arena.”

Meanwhile, winger Charlie Mosey believes Fife Flyers’ work ethic will set the Kirkcaldy club up for Elite League success this season.

Mosey and his team-mates have a chance to prove that when Edinburgh Capitals come to The Fife Ice Arena tonight on Challenge Cup, Group B, business.

The Minnesota-based 26-year-old is confident the club can bounce back after losing in the final of the inaugural Scottish Elite Cup to rivals Braehead Clan at Murrayfiel­d on Sunday.

He said: “I was very confident that I could make a good impression as long as I was given the opportunit­y.

“Making the team was my initial goal, but now I hope to elevate my play even further to help our team win.”
