Grim past re­counted to Probus

For­far Probus Club mem­bers were in­trigued by tales of mur­der and mis­deed in An­gus re­counted by Mon­trose writer Forbes Inglis.

His sto­ries in­cluded the 1754 case of Andrew Low, hanged at For­far’s Bal­mashan­ner for bur­glary, and Mar­garet Wishart of Ar­broath, a mul­ti­ple poi­soner hanged in 1826 af­ter ex­huma­tions at St Vigeans and the dis­cov­ery of a body in For­far Loch.
