Ex­tra train seats for open­ing of V&A

Trains to Dundee will have ex­tra seats to cope with a surge in vis­i­tors ex­pected as the V&A opens this week­end.

The £80.1 mil­lion build­ing opens on Satur­day and mu­seum bosses an­tic­i­pate a high number of vis­i­tors.

More than 10,000 peo­ple are ex­pected to at­tend an event on Fri­day, with thou­sands more vis­it­ing on Satur­day for a fam­ily-based fes­ti­val along the wa­ter­front.

Scotrail said an ad­di­tional late-night train will run on Fri­day from Dundee to Perth, while more than 50 trains on Satur­day will op­er­ate with ex­tra seats.

En­try to the mu­seum over the open­ing week­end is re­served for those who have booked tick­ets.
