Council carries out sweep of sunbed premises in UV check
Aberdeenshire Council’s environmental health service has carried out checks on sunbed businesses across the area to ensure their equipment is protecting customers from the harmful effects of UV radiation.
Of the 28 establishments visited by inspectors, 17 (61%) were found to be fully compliant with the regulations.
One enforcement notice was served on a business due to the lack of maintenance of tanning equipment.
Environmental health officers worked with the Sunbed Association, which provided UV solar meters so they could test the output from tanning tubes.
