Council begins opening public toilets at popular visitor sites

Fife Council has started reopening some public toilets.

From today people will be able to spend a penny at several popular visitor spots, with 11 convenienc­es opening mainly in north-east Fife. These include Elie harbour, Elie Ruby Bay and Elie Stenton Row, St Andrews West Sands and East Sands, Church Square and Craigtoun Park in St Andrews, Anstruther, Cupar Fluthers, Falkland and Lochore Meadows.

A further 11 will open on Tuesday at Ceres, Cellardyke,

Crail harbour and Westgate, Cupar Bonnygate, Lower Largo, Pittenweem, St Andrews harbour, St Monans, Tayport and Charlestow­n.

The remaining nine will be available from Wednesday.

The toilets at Bruce Embankment, St Andrews, and Leven Promenade will not open due to major building works.
