Chef ‘gob­s­macked’ to be awarded MBE

Scot­tish restau­ra­teur Tony Singh, left, said he was “gob­s­macked” to be among a num­ber of hos­pi­tal­ity in­dus­try fig­ures to be awarded an MBE at an investiture cer­e­mony at Buck­ing­ham Palace.

Pro­fes­sor Ian Boyd, top, for­mer di­rec­tor of St An­drews Univer­sity Sea Mam­mal Re­search Unit, was also recog­nised at the cer­e­mony, re­ceiv­ing the Po­lar Medal from Prince Charles for his re­search into the ecol­ogy of seals around South Ge­or­gia.

The only way Wales can top their Euro 2016 suc­cess is to get to the fi­nal of the World Cup, the team’s man­ager Chris Cole­man, above, said as he picked up an OBE for ser­vices to foot­ball.
