Railway hotel operators promise to pay staff living wage
A new hotel above Dundee’s upgraded railway station will open by spring, developers confirmed.
The Sleeperz hotel, which is part of the city’s £1 billion waterfront redevelopment, will open its 120 rooms to visitors ahead of the summer season.
Around 30 full-time jobs will be created when the hotel opens. Sleeperz said staff will be paid the living wage. The wage is £8.45 an hour, compared to the minimum wage of £7.50.
The railway station concourse will open in March. A spokesman for Sleeperz said: “The hotel will create about 30 full-time jobs in the Dundee economy.”
