Rising to the challenge
Tourism and hospitality is worth more than £300 million a year to Fife. It will receive a major boost with the Queensferry Crossing opening next year and V&A Dundee in 2018.
The V&A will provide a compelling reason for people to visit, and the Queensferry Crossing will enable them to get here more easily, giving us reasons to be optimistic.
But we should recognise we still have big challenges, particularly getting more people to spend time in Fife rather than pass through, encouraging them to visit parts of the county that haven’t traditionally attracted many visitors.
It is a challenge we are confident that local visitor attractions, hotels and the firms that support them will rise to.
