Starting down a slippery slope

-

Sir, - Referring to the Madras College planning situation, Councillor Brian Thomson was quoted in The Courier as saying: “The council went through a democratic process and the only reason it didn’t happen was three individuals got together to form a company and lodged a legal challenge.”

I think Mr Thomson will find that the reason it didn’t happen was because it was contrary to the law of the land, as determined by the courts whose job it is to determine such things.

I am sure Mr Thomson would agree with me that to set aside the law of the land when it’s inconvenient would put us on a very slippery slope indeed. Cllr Dave Dempsey. 7 Carlingnose Park, North Queensferry.
