In the men’s competition, Perth’s Kyle Smith leads the way after guiding his rink to a 7-3 win over Ron Whyte and a 7-6 success over Chay Telfer, making it seven wins from eight games.

Hot on the heels of Smith are the rinks skipped by David Murdoch and Tom Brewster, whose teams have both won six games.

Meanwhile, at the World Junior Championships in Gangneung, the Scottish women beat Canada 8-5 before losing their last round-robin game 8-7 against Russia.
