The leader of insurer Aviva’s sprawling Perth site is retiring.

Ian Ferguson has spent 38 years with the business and has latterly headed up the group’s operation at Pitheavlis in addition to his role as property claims director.

During his career, Mr Ferguson has played a leading role in shaping and promoting Scotland’s financial services sector and has served as a board member of the Scottish Financial Services Advisory Board, Scottish Financial Enterprise, Career Academies (Scotland) and the Perth Development Board.

He is also twice past president of the Perth chapter of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

“Aviva has greatly benefited from Ian’s passion, commitment, energy and expertise over the last 38 years,” Aviva UK general insurance CEO Colm Holms said.

“Ian has consistently strived to make a real difference to our customers, our people and our business, leaving behind a true legacy.”

Distribution director David Skinn will now represent Aviva across the multiple boards on which Mr Ferguson served and Kelly Robson has been named as new property claims director.
