Dancer given Ascot chance

Connection­s of Hertford Dancer are looking forward to the filly taking her chance in the Ribblesdal­e Stakes at Royal Ascot on Thursday.

John Gosden’s three-year-old, bred at Highclere Stud and owned by the 5 Hertford Street Racing Club, was added to the field at a cost of £17,000.

She has been given the opportunit­y after winning the Lingfield Oaks Trial on her latest start.

“Hertford Dancer is going to have a crack at the Ribblesdal­e,” said syndicate spokesman Alex Smith.

“She won well at Lingfield so we thought why not? It’s nice to go to Ascot.”
