Double yokers

The Courier & Advertiser (Fife Edition) - - COMMENT -

“I was interested in the recent item in The Courier about 10 double yolkers in a box of eggs,” says Ruth Gordon of Tayport.

“I get a lot of double yolkers at certain times and was told that this is because after they are pullets there is a hormonal change that results in the hens laying double yolkers.

“I am not sure if this is correct, but would be interested to hear from your readers if there are other reasons.”
