Glenrothes school to be given fully-funded author residency

Caskieberran Primary School has been chosen to receive a fullyfunded author residency from the Scottish Book Trust.

Author and illustrator John Fardell, who wrote The Seven Professors Of The Far North and The Flight Of The Silver Turtle, will work on various projects with pupils at the Glenrothes school in the hope of inspiring a life-long love of reading and writing.

Mr Fardell said: “I’m really looking forward to working with the pupils and staff, and I’m sure we’ll have a lot of fun generating imaginative creative work.”

Marc Lambert, chief executive of the Scottish Book Trust, said: “Bringing authors into the classroom makes books and storytelling come alive for pupils and inspires their own writing and creativity.”
