Salmon and whisky galore
Salmon and whisky exports are on the increase.
Fresh Atlantic salmon worth £483 million was exported from the UK during the first three quarters of 2017, according to HMRC statistics. During the same three-quarter period this year, Scotch whisky exports were worth more than £3 billion, representing an increase of 11% compared to the same period last year.
Rural Economy Secretary Fergus Ewing said: “These figures reflect the strength and resilience of our food and drink industry.”
