Dundee University staff to receive long-service awards
Hundreds of staff at Dundee University will join a long-service celebration as part of the institution’s 50th anniversary.
Around 200 staff who have worked at the university for 25 years or more, plus a select band of 20 who have served for more than 40 years, will receive a gift.
Among them will be the principal, Professor Sir Pete Downes, who is not only helping to present awards but receiving one himself, having worked in Dundee since 1989.
He said: “The shared experience and knowledge of people who have been here for over half the life of the university cannot be underestimated, and it is a significant factor in building the sense of community that is at the core of our strategy and direction.”
