An up-and-coming four-piece local indie band have a huge weekend coming up soon after being offered a slot performing at Party At The Palace at Linlithgow Palace.

Three lads from Cardenden – Joe Kane, Mik Mroz and Connor Muir – grew up together and just left school for college.

Six months ago, looking for a new frontman, a friend introduced them to Ged Howarth, a 19-year-old busker, solo gigger and guitar tutor from Dollar, and together Splendid Suns found their feet in the lively Dunfermline scene.

Organisers of Party at the Palace have now invited them on to the bill for this year’s event on August 11, and the night before they will launch their debut EP, Thorns, at a gig at PJ Molloys, Dunfermline.
