Wasps to lay new surface

Alloa Athletic will relay their much-maligned artificial surface at the Indodrill Stadium next month.

Work will begin on May 2 – two days after the final home fixture of the Championship campaign against Dumbarton, and is due to be completed by June 4.

Despite heavy criticism of their 3G turf, which was initially installed nine years ago, Alloa have chosen to continue their partnership with Green Fields UK Ltd, the company which produces the pitch.

Wasps chairman Mike Mulranney said: “We have once again selected the same team to provide our new surface. Despite both club and community use our pitch has continued to perform to the highest Fifa standards, making this decision easy for the club.”
