Ploughing champion handed honour

Ploughing champion Andrew Mitchell Sr from Forfar has been honoured by Angus Council for his contributi­on to Scottish and world ploughing.

He has won world championsh­ip titles and has travelled as far as Canada and New Zealand as well as ploughing in nearly every country in Europe.

He won his first reversible world championsh­ip in Australia in 1997 and his son, Andrew Jr, won his first convention­al championsh­ip in the Republic of Ireland when he was just 16.
