Royal yacht reaches travel website landmark

The chief executive of the Royal Yacht Britannia has paid tribute to staff after the tourist attraction notched up its 10,000th top rating on a travel website.

The ship, based in the Leith area of Edinburgh, has now clocked up 10,000 five-star “excellent” reviews on the TripAdvisor website.

A total of 72.1% of visitors awarded the attraction five stars, the highest “excellent” percentage rating of any large attraction in Scotland.

Britannia is second only in the UK to the British Museum in London (72.5%) and ahead the Houses of Parliament (71.7%) and Big Ben (69%).

The attraction has had 10,000 top reviews.
