Business figures recognised in Queen’s Birthday Honours list

A number of Scottish business people have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

The highest profile is Nora Senior, the former president of Scottish and British Chambers of Commerce, who is to receive a CBE.

The chairman of media house Weber Shandwick was recognised for services to Scottish and British business.

She is the only person in more than 300 years to have held the two national Chamber president’s offices at the same time.

Ms Senior said she was “immensely proud and humbled.”

Also receiving a CBE is Bob Keiller, the chairman of Scottish Enterprise and former chief executive of oil services giant Wood Group, and businessma­n Professor Charles Skene.

In Dundee, Dr Bharti Rajput, director of Sole Body Soul, is to be awarded an MBE for services to podiatry and the economy. She previously won the Associatio­n of Scottish Businesswo­men’s Most Enterprisi­ng Business Award.
