Book shop owners share business savvy with author

The Courier & Advertiser (Perth and Perthshire Edition) - - NEWS -

A Scots author has teamed up with the owners of The Watermill Bookshop in Aberfeldy to bring an independent bookstore back to Fort William for the first time since the war.

Angus MacDonald is behind The Highland Bookshop, which will take up a long-empty unit in the Highland town. Bestselling author Alexander McCall Smith will officially open the shop on July 14, but it is to the Watermill’s Kevin Ramage – who recently saw his business voted one of the world’s best – that Mr MacDonald turned for advice.

Kevin said: “This is Independent Bookshop Week and we thought this was the perfect opportunity to let people know that there is a bright future for shops like this on the High Street.”
