Butterfly is impatient

The Courier & Advertiser (Perth and Perthshire Edition) - - NEWS -

One of Britain’s most elusive butterflies, a rare purple emperor, has put in its earliest appearance in more than 120 years after warm spring temperatures, experts said.

The “rock star of the butterfly world” was spotted at Bookham Common in Leatherhead, Surrey, on June 11, much earlier than average first sightings for the species.
